Deng Xiaoping has always pay attention to education as he was the chief designer of China’s reform and opening up, he told lots of energy into the education reform and development of China, which has period a architecture of education thought in a long-term praxis, and provide guidance and enlightenment to the development of Chinese education continuously. This paper uses the literature survey analysis, summary analysis and other methods to studies the connotation, the produce process, the content and points of Deng Xiaoping’s educational thought in theory; and studies the guidance of this thoughts for our higher education in view of the main problems currently in practice.The first chapter is to expounds the theory and basic concept of Deng Xiaoping’s education thoughts and explains the study purpose, meaning and background information.The second chapter is to analyses the produce and development process. It’s sum up the content in five aspects,which is the correct direction of running college, education reform, legal system,the role and the priority develop of education, then summarizes its characteristics.The fourth chapter is to analyzes the main problems of the development of higher education. Which discuss in five points of how to guarantee the priority develop of higher education, moral education, the building of teachers team, legislation and level of higher education at present.The fifth chapter is the most important part and innovation of this paper. It’s to studies the using of Deng Xiaoping’s education thoughts to higher education. Which analyzes in five angles of performance evaluation, virtuous teach, the cultivation of teachers’, the sustainable progress of higher education.Finally, this part summarizes that Deng Xiaoping’s education thoughts is still has great guiding effect to our higher education, which need us use for reference in practice constantly.
