With the accelerated process of industrialization and urbanization in China, there is a gap between urban and rural areas, Even to say that this gap is far beyond the level of school education. When the migrant children moved to the Wuhan city which the supply of private tutoring market is active and adequate.Whether they will have the same demands of private tutoring?Or migrant children’s potential needs to be suppressed in the rural areas to be expressed?If it does exist, whether there is different needs between the migrant children and the urban household children?In the process of increasing the number of migrant workers,how should we satisfy their children’s private tutoring needs? This is an urgent research problem.Based on the empirical investigation and analysis of 8 schools in Wuhan. It shows that there is a huge private tutoring market in Wuhan. The number of local children who participate in private tutoring is more than 80%,and the number of migrant children is more than 60%.The data also reflects that the compulsory education students who have a relatively strong and sustained demand for private tutoring. It indicates that the external migrant children also face the fierce competition when the internal schools exist the problem of educational integration of migrant children. Therefore, it is important to study on private tutoring, especially for the group of migrant children.The tutoring willingness rate of migrant-workers’children is 53.8%, but 40.3% children’s tutoring need haven’t been satisfied, the rate of participants who also are in need of tutoring is 59.7%. This data indicates that there exists the demand of migrant children’private tutoring, but 40% of them fail to get the access of tutoring. There is a giant difference between local and migrant children in tutoring content, expense and subjects. Among the migrant children, whether they choose private tutoring or not,which is greatly affected by parents and the type of the children’s school.In the last part, based on the results of empirical analysis, it makes some suggestions about the problem of the private tutoring demand for migrant children from 3 aspects, which are the government level, school level and individual level.
