The teaching skills of geography,which are a necessary part of geography teachers’ literacy. In recent years, with the development of new curriculum reform of geography and teacher specialization, it has become more and more important among geography teachers, so as the research about teaching skills. Among all the skills, although transition plays a less important role, it’s essential. Perfect transition both can make the rhythm of the class more fluent and stimulate students’ interest of studying. So the purpose of the paper is to rich its theoretical research and help teachers improve the quality of transition. To analysis the current situation of implement and its possible problems of transition, this thesis uses constructional learning motivation theory and communication theory as basic theories, and solve them through literature analysis, questionnaire survey, video observation, case analysis and so on. For the paper, firstly, it teased research situation, relevant concepts and basic theories of geography transition. Secondly,it analyzed the current situation of implementation and its possible problems. Finally, it came up with the design strategies.The thesis consists of five parts:The first part is introduction. First of all, it states the selected background and research significance. The second, it teases the research situation of teaching skills, geography teaching skills and geography transition skills. At last, it expounds the approach, method and plan of the research.The second part are theoretical basis. It’s made up of two sections. The first part is to make the concept classification and function of geography transition clear, so as characters of high quality transition. The second part are theories, including constructional learning motivation theory and communication theory.The third part is research situation analysis. Firstly, this thesis studies the present situation of geography transition by video observation and case analysis. Secondly, it analyzes geography teachers’ cognition of transition by questionnaire survey. Lastly, it summarizes its problems and reason according to research results.The fourth part is strategy research. Firstly, put forward the principles we should obey when we use geography transition, such as targeted, aesthetics, interesting, creating and participation. Secondly, design strategies of five kinds of transition, which are on the basis of teaching contents. For instance, the basement of transition select, the scope of use and the problems to which should be paid attention.The fifth part are conclusion and prospect of this paper. Firstly, makes a summary of the whole paper and the basic conclusion. Secondly, puts forward the deficiency and puts further thinking and expectation.
