In Chinese Curriculum for Chinese Senior Middle Schools, ancient and modern classics should be read greatly in high school with an open culture vision and good mentality. In view of the student individual situation and body and mind development characteristics, teachers should choose classics of moderate difficulty with a certain cultural taste, and set reading goals to encourage students’reading classics in various styles, improving thinking abilities, cultivating innovation consciousness, so that students will take the responsibility of advanced cultural inheritance. High school students should be encouraged to read classics in different grades with annual progressive development of thought and language, enrich language literacy, and lay a good foundation for the comprehensive development of their own capabilities. So it is necessary for high school students to develop reading classics in different grades. Bai Cheng No.1 Middle School to In view of different student development, learning situation and compulsory teaching materials, etc in each grade, grade-reading specifically is of great significance. Nowadays the classic reading and grade reading are hot, but the studies on senior high school grade-reading in classics is rarely done.BaiCheng No.1 Middle School was founded in 1954, identified by Jilin Province Department of Education as the provincial key high school, Jilin Province model high school and the first-run school. With the development of the curriculum reform, the school explores the teaching mode so actively to adapt to the new situation and improve teaching quality that it quickly steps into sustainable development of a virtuous cycle, known as the "No.1 Middle School risen up in the desert. " The school has nearly 3,000 students, 300 teachers, including 30 Chinese teachers. Students’reading ability and reading teaching are in general good condition. This paper investigates and analyzes teacher-student interviews, surveys and reading cases, etc., in order to give a deep introduction of the current state of implementation, as well as to better deal with practicability, the characteristics and innovation of the classic expansion grade-reading.The paper is divided into five chapters. Chapter 1 is the foreword, containing the purpose and significance of the study, research status, research methods and the scope of the main concepts. Chapter 2 aims at analyzing the theory basis and necessity of classic expansion reading. Chapter 3 analyzes the present condition under the investigation, including the basic information about the objects, implementation strategies in different grades. Chapter 4 discusses the results and the main problems in the implementation process. The investigation has showed that the implementation has achieved some results, each grade with particular emphasis and good cohesion, enhanced the teachers’capacity of curriculum resources development and utilization, developed students’ creative ability and qualities, highlighted the characteristics of Chinese subject---"reading, writing and Understanding", and formed a rich practical education scientific research resources. But there are also some issues, for example, selected articles and textbooks are not always available; modern teaching methods can not be used flexibly; students’ reading time is not sufficient, the differences in the amount of reading is large. Finally, the suggestion for the solution of existed problems has been proposed in Chapter 5.To solve the above problems, the paper mainly put forward some improving suggestions, aiming at the improvement of adaptive selection and teaching materials, flexible use of modern teaching methods, reasonable arrangement of classic reading time, promoting professional development by strengthening learning, in order to make the implementation of the above strategy to expand classic reading better, and at the same time provide a little reference experience for other senior high schools to perform classics reading expansion teaching.
