Reading is the foundation of learning knowledge, and reading ability plays an important part in mastering Chinese. The students’ reading ability has directly an effect on the students’ learning even their further learning. Therefore, reading teaching largely affects the Chinese teaching quality, even the function of Chinese education. Thus, reading teaching plays an important part in the new round of Chinese curriculum reform.With the arrival of the information age, a large number of network information dissemination channels are gradually changing people’s traditional way of learning and thinking. The information age has put forward new requirements for senior high school students’reading ability.However the situation of students’ reading ability is not optimistic. Under the influence of utilitarianism and the pressure of the college entrance examination, most students do not love reading and are lack of reading knowledge. At the same time, there are many problems in teaching reading. In this process, on the one hand, under the influence of traditional teaching concepts, teachers often consciously or unconsciously take the place of the students’main status on their study. They impose their thinking and feeling on students. They even occupy the reading classroom discourse, deny the students’ learning initiative, and kill the students’individuality and creativity. It costs so much time and effort in teaching reading, but our students still can’t read an in-depth article. It needs our deep thinking. On the other hand, in the background of curriculum reform, our teachers receive different kinds of current advanced reading teaching theories. Due to lacking of the understanding of the concept of the new curriculum reform, teachers do not have much experience in the practice and exploration. In the actual operation process, there is a lack of understanding, improper implementation and a mere formality. It does not help students improve their reading ability. The quality of teaching reading is so bad that we actually worry about it. How to change the present reading situation? How to improve the students’ reading ability? How to enable students to enjoy reading? How to make students take the initiative to learn the language? How to make the Chinese reading teaching embody the spirit of the new curriculum standard and adapt to the requirements of the development of the information age? We have to seriously consider these problems.This article is about the reflection from the four parts of the phenomenon. The first chapter is the introduction part which explains the significance of reading teaching in senior high school, followed by an overview of the teaching present situation in the No.7 Middle School. According to the investigation and interview of students’basic situation and learning level, even the teaching situation between the teachers and the school, we know that reforming the reading teaching is an important and urgent matter. Then we draw a conclusion from the reading teaching’s exploration achievements at home and abroad, which helps to give a theoretical guidance for the practice of reading teaching and explain the research methods and research significance. The second chapter describes the new curriculum reform in the context of the new changes in language teaching. The article begins with the background of the new curriculum reform in senior high school, and then explains the new curriculum reform from two aspects:the change of teaching concept and the change of teaching mode. The concept of the new curriculum reform is the first update of curriculum change, followed by the transformation of teaching concept, again is to change the students’learning view. While changing the way of teaching is mainly the change of teachers’ teaching behavior and change the way of students’ learning style. In the third chapter, through the form of questionnaire survey of the students in No.7 Middle School, we know that high school students’reading situation is not optimistic, mainly being the following four points:utilitarian reading tends to highlight, less extracurricular reading time, "recreational reading" dominant, and film, television even the network media occupy students’ reading time. We also found that reading teaching has the following problems:First, the student status is not prominent, the teacher leading role becoming a mere formality and it will lead to lacking of classroom activity. Second, reading classroom needs more explaining from the teachers, but it ignores students’reading experience. Third, reading classroom reading teaching is marginalized. Fourth, the utilitarian purpose in reading class is so severe that we focus more training than experience. What’s more, according to the above survey, the Chapter four is about the reflection from the practice and then gets the following ideas:(a) Treating dialectically the classroom reading teaching tool and Humanism:First, face up to the classroom teaching of reading with the tool. Second, pay attention to the Chinese Reading Teaching in Senior high school of humanities. (b) The correct understanding of constructivist learning theory in the teaching of reading in the role of advantages and disadvantages:First, the construction outlined the basic viewpoint of Marxism. Second, the positive role plays in the theory of Constructivism in the teaching of reading. Third, the constructivist reading limitations of the teaching practice of attention to the effectiveness of classroom reading. (c) Paying attention to the effectiveness of the reform:First, pay attention to the effect of preparing for the class. Second, pay attention to the effect of giving a lesson. (d) The reform should be developed in the inheritance of Chinese:First, pay more attention to the research on the traditional Chinese teaching theory. Second, our teaching can’t be done just according to the traditional form. Third, teaching methods can’t depend more on the multimedia.Reading needs to be accumulated, so students’ reading ability can’t be formed quickly in a short time. Different students have different personalities, so are their abilities. How to carry out the targeted reading teaching for different students? How to effectively improve the reading ability of students? How to enable students to love reading even their Chinese? For our Chinese teachers, it is a really important issue. Furthermore, the research of the teaching reading in our classroom is always on the road. I hope that this article can bring some useful reference for our Chinese teachers.
