Innovation is the soul for a developing people. Only if a nation cultivates many great assets and put forward many innovations, can it be in the position of invincible status in the world. As the power source of developing country, education should stand in the front position of the times. It is important to found the education system which stresses the importance of cultivating new talent and which is suitable for developing times. As a result, the theme of the curriculum revolution is to renew the concept, perfect the system, optimize the content, and bring up the well-rounded people.The curriculum revolution puts forward a high standard for the Chinese subject, because Chinese has a great characteristic and it is significant for a healthy personality. Chinese have innumerable connotations and it can strength the students’ ability to use Chinese, broaden students’ mind, improve students’ ability to appreciate the beauty, cultivate students’ temperament, and then strive to mold a perfect personality. The new curriculum standard explicitly sets up the basic characteristic of Chinese, which is instrumental and humane. It stresses the importance of helping students gain a comprehensive personality. In the last few years, the quality education whose core is curriculum revolution is efficient in the processing in some aspects, while not very optimistic. The college entrance exam makes the aesthetic and exploring function of Chinese teaching vanish gradually. The practical result has a big gap with the original goal.It is happy to see that as a novel education concept, the idea of students-centered meets the requirement of times, which is deepening the curriculum innovation and sticking to the principle of student-centered. It designs the teaching model suitable for students’ growth and strives to bring up well-rounded people,at the beginning of birth were actively practice by many educators insight.As a result, this project tries to study the application of student-centered concept in reading class in high school. Based on the previous research, this dissertation draws the experience of original material and practical teaching, picks out many high schools as samples, explores from theoretical and practical aspects. This dissertation is made up of three parts. In the first part, it explains the student-centered concept and introduces the background and main idea. In the second part, it analyses the practicability of applying this concept in Chinese reading class in high school, and states the principle we should stick to. It also explores the method of applying this concept to Chinese reading class in high school, choosing some typical samples to analyze. In the third part, It makes an evaluation and puts forward some reflects about it.
