Since Apple released the first generation IPad in 2010, tablet PC already attracted attention in the vast range as a new information technology achievements, the tablet not only bring large changes in their daily lives, but also set off waves in education. Under the background of China’s education Informatization, the application of Tablet PC in the field of education continues to expand, more and more schools began to explore the tablet teaching practice, many of the researchers have actively carried out research on the Tablet PC Teaching in existing tablet teaching practice, the teaching of the advantages of the tablet gradually stand out as a good platform for interactive, multimedia-rich resources and network resources, tablet PC applications in teaching brought fresh blood.There are still many problems in the field of basic education, the subjectivity of students position in teaching practice does not adequately reflect in the practice, we have observed that in the current field of basic education students’initiative in learning participation is not enough, the breadth and depth of learning participation is also not enough, but students’ critical subjectivity in learning is reflected in students participating fully in learning. This paper aims to improve student engagement in learning through the tablet teaching, for this research topic, this paper summarizes the current situation of the student participate in class and summarize the reasons why the student participate in class learning is not high through observation and research, and based on the existing instructional design theory and teaching theory and based on the characteristics of tablet PCs in elementary physical education, try to integrate the advantages of tablet into elementary physical education, and proposed a primary physical education instructional design model under tablet PCs environment, independent learning activity is the centre of this teaching design model. Finally, at a Cheerleading Sport class in a primary school practice this teaching design, student engagement status of the cases were measured through questionnaire and interview survey, which proved the current Tablet PC teaching has improved student engagement. through tablet teaching practice we also summed up some of the problems that exist in the tablet teaching and make some comments and suggestions for implementation of tablet teaching.This paper is divided into six parts, the first part describes the background, purpose, meaning, content, ideas and research methods traitor of the study. The second part defined the related concepts of the student engagement and the tablet PCs teaching environment, and reviewed the characteristics of the tablet teaching. The third part analyzed the status of student engagement in physical teaching and the issues involved in PE teaching. The fourth part offered the instructional design theory in elementary physical education under the tablet environment and create independent learning activities centered instructional design model. The fifth part practice the instructional design model into a case of the fifth grade Cheerleading class teaching instructional design, and analyzed the results of teaching practice through student participation surveys. Sixth part of the thesis summarized the results of studies and the problems in the practice, and prospected the study in the future about this study topic.
