The scale of foreign students studying in China keeps increasing and the number of international students increasingly rises causing some challenges for China with regards to not only the education system but also to the administrative structure. Because foreign students come from different countries, they have different religious beliefs, cultural background, social experiences, life styles and customs. Being in China, foreign students encounter many kinds of problems, like language communication, living habits and value divergence. So they have to adjust themselves to this new situation in terms of adaptation of psychological and behavior.Mostly, the foreign students stay at school, which is an important place for students’ socialization. Whether they are accommodating to the school environment well is not only matter their psychological health, but also has an impact on individual development. This paper attempts to discuss the school adaptation of international students studying in Central China Normal University and the influential elements behind the adaptation, using literature survey, questionnaires, interview, etc. And according to the results of this research, through the perspective of school adaptation, put forward some advises to help international students to enhance their adaptation to college.The paper is divided into three parts. The first part is about the introduction and theory summary part, including the introduction and the first section. This part briefly explains the background, the subject and the origin point of this research, defining and analyzing statistics the basic meanings and present study status of foreign students’ school adaptation. Under the premise of redefining research procedure and methods,build this essay’s writing frame and demonstrate its rationality, then review and grope the related theories of the theme; The second part is empirical studying part, it is the core of this paper, containing the second to the fourth section, which will describes the procedure of data collecting, analysis the status of foreign students’ college adaptation in Central China Normal University, discuss the research results and puts forward some suggestions. The third part is the prospecting part, including the fifth section. It will re-examine the problems raised during writing and researching, then point out the shortcomings of the article as well as prospect something in further research.The results of research show that:(1) about international students’ adaptation in Chinese universities, there are four dimensions, including social adaptation, studying adaptation, psychology adaptation, and school environment adaptation. These four dimension are independents, but also related. (2) The adaptation level of foreign students in Central China Normal University is good on the whole part. Most of their problems are in term of cultural cognition, and mental adaptation. (3) In general, foreign students are satisfied with the school services, but they think the information sources about school affairs are limit, and have some communication problem with office staff because of cultural different.This study proposes the following measures:First, reform the "No different" management strengthen faculty and establishing psychological counseling system at the international student office. Secondly, building the educational system which helps foreign students adapt to Chinese culture and school environment, applying multimedia and adhering to students-oriented principle. Thirdly, building up multicultural student organizations, improving foreign students’ affair management.
