Since the reform and opening policy in 1970s, China has experienced a history of the world’s largest and fastest urbanization process, effectively promoted the sustained and rapid development of national economy. However, in the rapid development of cities, there are some outstanding contradictions and problems we must pay high attention and strive to resolve. Land-lost farmers is such a problem, on the one hand, they lose their subsistence and income sources, live hard lives; on the other hand, when facing with the fierce competition in the job market, they are lack of advantages because of limit of the cultural level and work skills. Promote employment of land-lost farmers is the most fundamental and effective way to solve these problems. Therefore, the employment research for land-lost farmers contribute to the implementation of people-oriented urbanization, which meets the demand of decision phase of building an affluent society.According to an on-the-spot investigation of Nanyang’s gathering area of land-lost farmers, I adopt questionnaire to study the employment situation, make an description of land-lost farmers’ employment situation and problems, use social ecological theory to analyze their own factors, government factors and institutional factors of influence of employment for land-lost farmers. Then from the perspective of social work, put forward the service contents for land-lost farmers’employment:psychological counseling, training, resource supply, rights maintenance and so on, and starting from three work methods including individual, group and community, Providing solutions to the employment problems of land-lost farmers. Finally, I put forward three suggestions to solve the problems of land-lost farmers, respectively are increasing investment in social work, building support systems and strengthen training for land-lost farmers.
