Argumentation, thesis and datum are the key elements of argumentative writing. As the connection between thesis and datum, argumentation is the core of argumentative writing. Nowadays, most of the teachers in high schools focus on teaching students how to make an excellent thesis or how to keep datum abundant, while little knowledge of argumentation has been instructed. Therefore, many students in high keep pursuing accumulating datum and the exquisite in language, ignoring the significance of the logic, structure and methods of argumentation. Actually, they make argumentation by what just comes in their minds and this leads the essay disorderly.In this paper, by analyzing 100 argumentative articles of the senior high school students from Huashiyifuzhong in Wuhan, we found some common problems and the causing reasons, then put up with correlating countermeasures. Specifically, this paper is divided into four parts:In the introduction of the paper, the researcher explains purpose of the study, and describes the research history and present conditions of this field. And in this part, some conceptions are defined in the from the perspective of teaching and understanding. In the chapter 1, the researcher presents five common problems of the students’ articles by analyzing them, including argumentation excursion, structural disorder, method misuse, invalid datum and improper rhetoric, which will help educators and students understanding better of the argumentation problems. In the chapter 2, the researcher explores the deep reasons of the previous problems. Statistics work is adopted and the main reason of the poor argumentation for teachers is that there might be little system methods during their teaching, and for students is that them often get illogical and tongue-tied. The chapter 3 mainly give some countermeasures of how teachers help students effectively to make logical minds. And using logical thinking to conduct deductive reasoning, inductive inference, an logic reasoning and other logical methods to complete the argumentation may have some innovative significance. There some examples are presented of the application of critical reasoning and creative reasoning in argumentation writing. Besides, this part put up with some effective countermeasures of how to enhance the abilities of reading, systematic teaching, oral communication.
