Curriculum reform is an important part of education reform, and textbook serves as the physical and chemical products, is an important manifestation of curriculum reform idea and course content, therefore, the study of textbooks is conducive to enhancing the quality of teaching and curriculum effectiveness. Activities designed as an important base of Chemistry class, the level of quality and is designed activities will directly affect the chemistry class. And due to differences in education systems, political systems and cultural backgrounds, the compilation of teaching materials characteristics will be very difference. The paper studied China high school chemistry textbooks and mainstream America high school science textbooks Chemistry:Concepts and Applications (upper, middle and lower) in activities designed to compare the differences in order to be able to learn from each other and better design optimization activities.The research questions of this paper are as follows:1. What is the concept of high school chemistry textbooks and activities designed and how’s the progress of research at home and abroad? 2. Chemistry textbooks activities designed have different comparative frameworks, What does Chemistry textbooks activities designed contain? 3. Whether there is any difference and similarities between the two countries of activities designed? 4. What are the standards of high-quality activities designed through interviews with teachers who teaching in high school? How to design the evaluation index of activities?5.Selecting the three same knowledge of the activities designed to make a fragment of high school chemistry teachers to evaluate, records and statistics on which version of activities designed is populared by teachers and their reasons? 6. Through the comparative study of the activities designed, giving some suggestions for the activities designed of chemistry textbook in our country to write and implement?There are five parts in the study. Part Ⅰ is introduction. It mainly explained research ideas, meaning, questions, assumptions, methods and design. Part Ⅱ is the literature review, interpreted the core concepts of "high school chemistry textbook", "activities designed" and so on. This paper expounds the study related research status domestic and foreign research. Part Ⅲ is a comparative study of high school chemistry textbook design activities between two countries, this part mainly analyzed the different dimensions of activities designed in chemistry textbooks between two countries. Part Ⅳ is to evaluate the activities designed of two countries, which include establishing evaluation indexs and evaluating activities designed case? Part Ⅴ is the summary, which includes the research conclusion and suggestion.The conclusion of this study are as follows:1.There is a great difference between China and America chemistry textbooks of activities designed, the America chemistry textbooks of the experimental class activities occupy more weight percent, and the inquiry activities are more than the China textbooks, America chemistry textbooks pay more attention to autonomous activities, China textbooks more demonstration by teachers, the overall level of activities in the China chemistry textbooks is more difficult than America chemistry textbooks.2. The design of high school chemistry textbooks activities evaluation have five first class indexes and twenty-two second class indexes, giving the corresponding standard score for each index through expert consultation method.3.According to case study, the teachers are more appreciative of the activities of the America activities, the reason is America’s knowledge content reflects better and it has better interoperability, and activities are very fresh and innovative.4.Through evaluating and analyzing activities designed of China and America chemical textbooks, it need to increase activities designed experimental types of activities, extracurricular activities designed autonomous activity and inquiry-based activities.5.1n the event of activities designed, we should pay attention to the activities of operability, and thinking training and emotional training, and activities should be designed to be innovative and creative.
