Nowadays, Every country lives in the multicultural background. Britain is similar to China,as a country of varied ethnic peoples with a long history. Britain and China are both big countries with traditional culture. Britain is one of the world’s most powerful capitalist countries. Study on that, it’s has a realistic significance under the complicated situation in the field of education,especially teacher education.The British education utterly originated from religion. When the monitorial system and the trainee system emerged, the British teacher education gradually arose. We can understand the modern situation of the British teacher education better by reviewing the whole process of the rise and development of the British teacher education. When the multiculture emerged in the 1960 s,the diversity of population, language and religion caused social problems. Multicultural background and problems have great influence on the British teacher education policy, teaching method and course content. The policy of teacher education is developing in spiral fashion under the multiple influence; The goal and values of teacher education undertake more complicated responsibility to society and history. Bilingual course, civil course, religious course and the combination have enriched the content of the multicultural teacher education.;The practice of teacher education is also many and varied. Not only having the characteristics of traditional school-based education, but also they have network education and life-long education with global identity.Our teacher education under multicultural background is not only faced the obvious issue of inadequate stuff, but also the hidden issue of inadequate quality and attitude. Multiculturalism is adding new roles to teacher education, and bringing the reflection of it. In the end, the author begins horizontal comparison on legislation and course, discusses the enlightenment of them to China, and introduces a teacher training case that is called Northwest minority teacher training center which is mature at present.
