In order to improve student’s learning interest and initiative in geography during teaching process and let the student master the basic geographical knowledge and skills in the limited time, we should to guide the students to combine the geography study with life practice, so that they can really feel the utility of learning geography. In order to realize those goals, it has a higher requirement for for teachers’ professional and personal quality during geography teaching. And it’s also very necessary to optimize the tedious teaching content and single teaching methods. In the purpose of effective teaching of Geography, we should pay more attention to grasp and regroup the teaching content to let it understand easily in the classroom teaching, especially the geography teaching in secondary art school and apply geographic knowledge to the life of the students to better to culture the students’ learning interest in geography.This paper analyzes the geographic learning situation and study problems of the students in secondary art school as a special group to identify the causes and propose the relevant measures with practical cases, based on the research analysis of optimization on teaching content of geographical education at home and aboard. We hope to make contribution to the study of geography. This study uses literature research method, expert consultation method, questionnaire method, statistical analysis method,case studies method and so on.This article has six chapters, briefly discussing the purpose and significance of research and the research status at home and abroad. Guided by applied teaching theory and dialogue teaching theory, it investigates the teaching status, problems and causes of geographical teaching in the High School Affiliated to Sichuan Conservatory of Music by literature research method, expert consultation method, questionnaire method,statistical analysis method, case studies method and so on. In order to achieve the aim of optimizing the geographical teaching content in secondary arts schools, we analyze the comprehensiveness and complexity of high-school geography and the difficulty of geography study under the principles of curriculum standard and examination syllabus.So according to this principle of teaching optimization, we make teaching design and practice by high school geography--Earth Movement section, combining theory with practice, which provides reference for the geography teaching in secondary arts schools and realize the significance of this research.
