In this study is aimed to gives references for the implementation and perfection of Chinese basic physical education curriculum standard and the suggestions of physical education by the analysis of basic physical education curriculum standard comparative study between China and Australia. Curriculum standard is the important basis and key point of curriculum practice. The purpose of this study is: to gives references for the curriculum research; helps the schoolteachers to understand the physical education curriculum standard better; gives useful references for the Chinese supervisor of physical education.The subjects of the study is <Physical education(and health) curriculum standard> of China in 2001 and <Health·Physical education curriculum standard> of Australia Victoria province in 1995;the methods include document and comparison to compare and analysis the curriculum identification、curriculum objectives、curriculum content 、 curriculum management 、 curriculum implementation and curriculum evaluation. The study concludes as follows:(1) Basic physical education curriculum standard of China is a national compulsory course. Australia makes the curriculum standard by each province, it’s not compulsory. Each province has more decision-making power to draft policy and select the resources;(2) Chinese physical education curriculum standard is more theoretical with many contents and stages, it’s hard to understand;(3) Victorian physical education curriculum standard includes curriculum contents with details and explains, it has pragmatic value and guides. The crucial difference between them is whether the curriculum standard has national curriculum contents or not;(4) Victoria Province established learning committee based on the curriculum and evaluation committee, which is in charge of all the curriculum evaluation works to promise the quality. It’s worth to reference;(5) Victoria physical education curriculum standard implementation includes three dimensions:intelligence、good learning circumstance and proper teaching object, which provide scientific guides and better indemnification to students. Chinese physical education curriculum standard implementation is lack of guide for values-values and behavior, which is one of the main reasons of poor efficiency and weak coordination;(6) Australian local government has more rights and management space to make policy. Chinese physical education curriculum management is passive comparatively. It’s need to attach importance to deprive schools’ rights and interests. At present, the way of Chinese physical education curriculum development is a long journey, we need learning、perfection and improvement ceaselessly.
