College food services is the focus of public food services in modern catering industry. The growth of college food services has a positive significance to the stable development of colleges. As one of the important developments of logistics, college canteen is closely related to students’ daily life. Since the management quality of college canteen has a close relationship with students’ vital interest, the meal quality and services have attracted increasing attention.Recently, owing to the inflation of prices, many canteens ran a deficit even though they have been supported by governments’ policy. College food services themselves are facing the contradiction between public welfare and market economy principles and the contradiction between students’ increasing dining requirements and canteens’ limited economic conditions. The competition among different canteens and social caterings is intensifying, which directly leads to the great challenge of canteens’ management, hence,students’ low satisfaction will last for quite a long time. As the socialization reform of college logistics,college catering is facing a severe challenge, but college catering is the basis of the steady development of colleges or universities and the guarantee of colleges’ or universities’ teaching and scientific researches.This essay is composed of four parts. The first part is about the theatrical review including the background,the purpose, the research methods and research contents. Concerning the reform of logistic management system in higher educational institution is on-going, the contradiction between the public character of higher education and the commercial character of market economy becomes acute, besides, student‘s consumption view is changing, this research undertakes a study in catering service of SHZU, with view to the uniquely environmental and ethnical character of Xinjiang. This research’s result can not only guide support crew how to serve students better, but also benefit the canteen’s management. The second part is the current situation analysis of the catering service of SHZU covering school construction, school-running characteristics,and current situation of school catering service. The third part is about problem observation and analysis. The approach is to take the whole support crew of SHZU as research object and to implement a filed investigation in SHZ city and its surrounding catering service spot, and then by comparing and analyzing their respective scale and status to find the merits and demerits of SHZU. Nowadays, college catering is facing a fierce market competition and diversified consumer demand. SHZU catering, as a catering representative team among universities in west china,must overcome a relatively high cost of materials caused by geographical factors of Xinjiang, conquer a fall-behind management theory and out-of-date production technology, continuously encourage creative catering service, intensify communication with teaching department, and bring higher education institution superiority into full play.The fourth part is about proposal.Just from my personal perspective,I propose a brand establishment of SHZU catering by modernizing it and improving the over-all ability of its support crew.
