In the process of market-oriented transformation in Chinese society,the catering industry of the Korean nationality has achieved rapid growth.Food enterprises of the Korean nationality have paid great attention to customer demand and health,brand building and the expansion of the enterprise size.By the chain operation,franchised operation and other means,the catering industry of the Korean nationality is actively entering the domestic market from the Yanbian region.In the traditional concept of gender-based labor division,women of the Korean nationality are quite familiar with food processing,and the threshold to the catering industry is not high.Therefore,in the context of market-oriented economy,the catering industry has become one of main fields in which women of the Korean nationality win employment and career success.However,for long periods of time,the status and role of women of the Korean nationality have not highlighted and recognized in the academic circle.Therefore,in this thesis,literature review,participant observation,in-depth interview and other research methods of ethnology were adopted to strive to search materials about achievements of female operators of the Korean nationality,in order to use first-hand data to prove the status and positive role of women of the Korean nationality in the development of its national catering industry.This thesis falls into 4 chapters.The first chapter is the introduction part,mainly including the research background,research objectives,literature review and research methodology.The second chapter introduces the general situation about the development of the catering industry of the Korean nationality in China,including development characteristics of its catering industry in different development stages.The third chapter is the key part and also the innovative point of this thesis,which describes the status and role of women of the Korean nationality in the catering industry from 4 aspects.To be specific,female operators in the catering industry of the Korean nationality play an innovative role in the development and management of food projects;representative female entrepreneurs in the Yanbian catering industry have a representative role and set a good example for young operators in the catering industry;women of the Korean nationality are honored as the inheritor of intangible cultural heritage projects of the national food at all levels,playing an important role in inheriting the national food culture;women of the Korean nationality take the initiative to establish the Yanbian Korean traditional diet Association and other industry associations and build a variety of catering teaching and research platforms to educate and train catering practitioners,thus serving as a powerful organizer in the industry.The fourth chapter is the conclusion part.
