A Study Of Relationship Among Flow-state, Mental Burnout And Perceived Social Support Of The Skilled Competitors

In recent years, there are more and more students involved in different scales of vocational skilled competition with the department’s support. As the leading role, the players’ psychological quality has aroused the attention of the researchers in addition to excellent theoretical knowledge and operational skills. The researches show that the flow state of competitors is closely related to excellent performance. A model is proposed to investigate the relationship between mental burnout and flow-state in this study, which is based on the existing research achievement, in order to ease the players’ mental burnout and promote the best competitive level.439 players who had taken participant in vocational skilled competitions of different provinces or levels had been investigate in this study, using Skills operation flow-state scale,mental burnout scale and perceived social support scale. And, the results showed:(1)a vast majority of players experienced a high level of flow-state, and there were significant differences in gender, the years of operant activity, technical level and the competition level; male, the players whose operant activity were more than 3years, the players of high technical level, and the players who had joined high level of competition experienced higher levels of flow-state. There were no significance in degrees.(2) there was a significant negative correlation between mental burnout and flow-state, and a significant positive correlation between perceived social support and flow-state, and a significant negative correlation between mental burnout and perceived social support.(3) perceived social support played a role of adjustment between mental burnout and. With the skilled competition player’ mental burnout degree increasing, the level of flow-state was higher, otherwise, the level of flow-state was lower.Finally, based on the current situation and characteristics of the players of vocational skilled competition, it was suggested that strengthen the learning of theoretical knowledge, regulate the competition motivation so that to improve the perceived social support level.
