Under the background of the industrial structure adjustment, working-age population continues to grow, economic downward pressure increases, the employment situation of college graduates is not optimistic. The question of how to promote the employment of college graduates has aroused widespread concern in the community. Academic research issues related to the employment of college graduates from different perspectives. When the impact of human capital on employment has been unable to fully explain the problem of employment, scholars study the impact of the introduction of social capital factors on employment. Employment problem is not only an economic problem, but also a social problem. It is important to study the influence of social capital on employment.Firstly, the article defines “initial employment” and “social capital”, discussed job search theory, the theoretical basis for this study. Secondly, the impact of social capital on the initial employment of the research design, research hypotheses put forward to build research model, making the questionnaire, and the pre-survey questionnaire, used to adjust the questionnaire, a questionnaire in order to improve reliability. Thirdly, formal large sample data for statistical analysis to understand the personal characteristics of the sample of graduates, the initial employment, socialcapital conditions. Among them, the initial employment including job search and employment results in two ways. Social capital includes social capital ownership situation(broken down into a network of graduates capital, family social capital,social network size), the utilization of social capital(social capital is subdivided into contact frequency, degree of closeness of social capital, help efforts, job level).Descriptive analysis, empirical analysis was carried out on the relationship between social capital and initial employment. This article first extracted with principal component analysis first composite employment index as the dependent variable in the regression analysis, and then to the individual characteristic variables as control variables of social capital variables and the dependent variable from hierarchical regression analysis and analysis of social capital based on the regression results relationship with initial employment. Finally, the author study of the full text summary and put forward related suggestions.This study attempts to study the problem of employment of graduates for the first time from the perspective of social capital, aimed at understanding the graduates initial employment status, social capital position graduates to explore social capital and graduates initial employment relationship, to understand what social capital factors employment for the first time has a significant influence, in order to provide recommendations to promote the first undergraduate employment.
