China is a relationship-centered society.The application of relationship and itsinfluence has infiltrated into every aspect of daily life. It is the same on the issue ofgraduates employment which is relatively micro. The existed researches recognizedthat the social capital has important influence on college students' jobhunting.However, they overlooked the labor market's segmentaion attribute and thejob hunting's dynamic attribute, which makes the conclusion of the study lack of thestrength of general explanation.This paper divides the labor market system into double labor markets, anddivides graduate employment process into two stage—information collection stageand job-search stage.In the binary and dynamic analytical framework, take HunanProvince as a case. At the base of survey data, this paper first statisticly descripes thesocial capital's quantity and quality of the graduates, then emprically studies thesocial capital's influence on graduates' job hunting channels selection and results,finally analyzed the time-domain and mechanisms.The empirical results indicate that: (1) The graduates' social capital in terms ofquantity and quality is not very high, and family background is its main source anddecisive factor.(2) Social capital is an important factor which affect graduates' jobhunting channel selection, the richer social capital the graduates have, the morelikely they use informal job hunting channel.(3) The graduates' social capital has animportant influcence on their employment opportunity, the richer social capital theyhave, the more likely they get employment opportunity. But graduates' social capitalhas no influcence on their initial salary.(4)In different labor market and different jobhunting stage, the type of social capital which plays a strong role is different.This isrelated to the mechanisms through which social capital affect the graduates'job-search by collecting information and exerting influence.At the base of empricalanalysis, corresponding suggestions and recommendations are provided.
