Undergraduate teaching is the core of University. Strengthening the evaluation and monitoring of classroom teaching, is the key to improve the teaching quality of higher education.The paper initially built the students’ satisfaction index model of classroom teaching in local universities through analyzing the elements of the classroom teaching. Based on the statistics with1200 questionnaires from three local undergraduate universities in Jiangxi Province, the study tentatively constructs the students’ satisfaction with classroom teaching evaluation index system by using statistical methods such as principal component analysis and so on. The index system is composed by four first-level indexes, eight second-level indexes and forty-nine third-level indexes.The first-level index contains teachers’ situation, teaching environment, learning engagement and teaching result. The second-level index includes teaching accomplishment, teaching organization,teaching attitude, teaching methods, teaching environment, students ’ learning consciousness,students’ learning behavior, teaching result. The third level index consists of 49. Every index weight is given. The study indicates that the structure of questionnaire index system is designed reasonably, which can be used as the assessment tool to evaluate higher education students ’satisfaction with classroom teaching. The paper first analyzes the mean values of satisfaction and important degree by using the descriptive statistic analysis method; then, the paper analyzes the influence that the demographic variables have on students’ satisfaction of classroom teaching in local universities; next, the study puts forward the related suggestion on improving the students’ satisfaction of classroom teaching by drawing the Quadrifid graph model;at last, the study tests the index model by regression analysis. The main conclusions are as follows:1. The study establish the index system of undergraduates’ satisfaction with classroom teaching in higher education.2. Students have a medium satisfaction with the classroom teaching in local universities with an average of 3.47.3. As to the four dimensions of the first-level which affect the classroom teaching quality,the scores of four dimensions from high to low are: faculty, teaching effectiveness, teaching environment, students’ engagement in studying.4. As to the eight dimensions of the second-level which affect the classroom teaching quality,the scores of eight dimensions from high to low are: teaching literacy, teaching attitude, teaching organization, teaching methods,teaching effectiveness, teaching environment, the behavior that students engage in study, the consciousness that students engage in study.5. As to the forty-nine factors of the third-level which affect the classroom teaching quality,students feel the most content with teachers’ concept of time in class,students have the least satisfaction with their learning attitudes.6. Taking the demographic variables into consideration, the students with different school category, subject category, class, whether are accepted by first choice of university, the degree of interest in the major have significant difference on classroom teaching satisfaction, while the students with different gender, job orientation, areas have no significant difference on classroom teaching satisfaction.
