The geometry curriculum and education reform has been a focus of research on mathematics education, which plays an important role in training students’ ability in three dimensional spaces, image thinking ability, reasoning and the concept of analytic geometry. Circular is one of the main points of the geometry curriculum content, which runs through the stage of compulsory education and high school education. Many researchers has been working and discussing it from multi-angle, multi-level and multi-dimensional. But overall, most the research has been started from the perspective of the whole plane geometry. And the specific, targeted, specialized research on the circular knowledge of primary and secondary schools has rarely been conducted.In this paper the author takes the current primary and secondary school mathematics teaching material for the study media, and begins a systematic study on the circular knowledge in plane geometry of primary and secondary schools. And the author does a detailed analysis on the circular knowledge presentation and layout during the primary and secondary schools. According to the classification of SOLO theory analysis and evaluation in the process of circular learning, students’ geometry thinking level, the characteristics of the answers given by the students, and referring to the study results, the author gives many suggestions to the practical teaching of the circular knowledge in plane geometry of primary and secondary schools and also the learning of the students.This paper mainly adopts the theory analysis, content analysis and teaching fragment analysis as the research methods.There are five chapters in this paper. Chapter1 mainly introduces the history and status quo of the geometry research at home and abroad. On the basis of elaborated and classified literature review on the study of the geometry, this paper illuminates theresearch purpose and the research meaning, and also introduces the research methods and framework.Chapter 2 mainly focuses on the deep analysis of the circular knowledge presentation in the stage of compulsory education and high school education. And chapter 2 gives a systematic and comprehensive combing in the distribution of circular knowledge in plane geometry. And it discusses the cohesion of the circular knowledge in each learning stages based on the mathematical rules. Then it gives a simple analysis on the circular knowledge in plane geometry of primary and secondary schools.Chapter 3 introduces and summarizes the SOLO classification theory and the theoretical basis of the theory firstly. And then, it uses the classification theory to analyze the canonical classic of the actual classroom teaching segments of circular knowledge in different stages of the primary and secondary schools.On the basis of the above research achievements, Chapter 4 puts forward some specific and feasible, targeted suggestions on the circular knowledge of plane geometry teaching in the four periods of primary and secondary schools.In Chapter 5, the author reflects the insufficient of this paper and the limitation of the research. And at the same time, provides some better ideas for the future research on the circular knowledge of primary school and the practical teaching.
