As the quantity and category of full-time masters of engineering continue to increase, to improve students’ practical abilities has become the core of training and the emphasis to promote the education teaching reform and its quality. While the ultimate ownership of full-time masters of engineering is the enterprise, therefore, to meet the demand of the enterprise is the significant direction to train practical abilities for full-time masters of engineering.The article uses the practical abilities as the research object. On the basis of the human capital theory and ability standard theory, and through the literature research and investigation of related enterprises, we refine the specific requirements of practical abilities on the enterprises’ demand to the full-time masters of engineering, and define the connotation, elements and structure. Second, we carry out the questionnaire investigation, investigate the actual level practical abilities for full-time master of engineering in the representative academies of H university, and by combining the enterprise demands to the comparative research, we analyze the problems of the practical abilities training that full-time masters of engineering are facing; Finally, in view of the problem, we also puts forward several suggestions on promoting practical abilities for full-time master of engineering. The results show that:(1) the practical abilities for full-time masters of engineering based on enterprise demands are constituted by three categories and nine elements: three categories are the basic practical ability, professional practical ability and comprehensive practical ability and nine elements are learning ability, communication ability, environmental adaptability, professional theory and skills, project development and designing ability, project implementation and management ability, ability to comply with professional ethics, project innovation ability and engineering leadership and organization and management ability;(2)the practical abilities for full-time masters of engineering based on the enterprise demand are on the medium level,and gaps exist in all levels of practical abilities: the general, the three categories and the nine elements practical abilities compared with the enterprise’ demand;(3) the training of practical abilities for full-time masters of engineering mainly faces the problems of the following five aspects: the idea of training practical abilities for full-time masters of engineering has not been fully established to enterprises’ demand, the docking and cooperation between universities and enterprises are not close, the training links are imperfect, guidance to female students is relatively insufficient, lack of international exchanges and cooperation between academies;(4) to solve the problems of practical abilities training faced by the full-time masters of engineering, five aspects of measures are needed to reform to perfect the benchmarking, that are change the idea of training, and strengthen the orientation to the enterprise needs, clear the enterprise status and achieve good docking for both supply and demand sides, improve training links and reverse the weak practical abilities, emphasis on gender differences and improve women practical abilities, strengthen the horizontal communication and set up the surveyor’s pole in the academies.The research results have a certain role in guaranteeing the effect of practice for full-time masters of engineering and improving the practical abilities of students, and can provide a reference for relevant departments and universities.
