P. R. China began to recruit full-time professional degree graduate students including themaster of engineering in2009. These students directly enter campus when they graduate fromcampus, which means they do not have any experience of working. However, the trainingtargets are to make them professionals after graduate who can resolve technical problemsalone in the engineering field. The contradiction determinants the students’ praxis abilities, isthe key factor in education, and is of high value for study. The practice abilities are developed in practical activities. The present study chosepractice activities as our logical starting point and tried to resolve the following questions:what kind of activities is practice activities? What factors do pactice activities comprise andinfluence? What is the present situation of training? What problems do the training programshave? How to solve these questions? The present project theoretically studied the practice in educational field. The essentialof graduate education and the characteristics of professional degree education were combinedand the required concepts were established. The practice of full-time engineering masters isthe activities to solve the practical problems in engineering field with professional knowledgeand technologies and to develop or promote the products, technologies, crafts, and so on.Based on it, the practical ability of full-time engineering master was etymologically definedin consideration of the criterions for engineers training and market requires for engineers. Theinfluences on the training of engineering masters were analyzed from three aspects includingcurriculum studies, outside campus practices, and dissertation designs. In addition to theoretically analysis, case study method was employed to analyze TUniversity as a case. The influence factors on practical ability training were statisticallyanalyzed. The main problems included irrational set of curriculums, formalistic Dural-mentorsystem, insufficient implementation of outside campus practices, and loose relations ofdissertations and practices. The analysis was taken by five aspects including the specificcharacteristics of full-time engineering masters training, development of practicalcurriculums, supervise on outside campus practical activities by tutors inside campus, appointments of tutors outside campus, and the cooperations of university and businesses.
