At present, since there were no completed career planning education and guidance, the freshmen are easily infected by anxiety, loss, emptiness and other negative emotions, which may lead to the lack of motivation, maladaption. In this regard the present study is aim at to explore a group tutoring which is attractive to students as well as can be efficient.This study conducted group counseling for first-year college students on the base of existing research at home and abroad, with the main method of psycho-scene-drama based on theory of existentialism. The purpose is to improve the ability of career planning for college students, and to explore the method of career planning at the beginning of university study.Objects of study were recruited from an undergraduate college and a vocational school in Nanjing. The selected participants were randomly divided into experimental group and control group, with 14 members of each group in the undergraduate college and 10 member of each group in the vocational school. There was no significant difference between experimental group and control group in demographic data (e.g. age, gender, nationality and culture degree). Counseling intervention of psycho-scene-dram was conducted on experimental group, using standardized scales of "Questionnaire of Occupational Career Planning of College Students" and "Scale of Vocational Maturity of College Students" to evaluate levels of career planning level in experimental group and control group. In addition, "Group Satisfaction Self-rating Scale" was also adopted for effects assessment, combined with assistant evaluation and feedback of tracking interview.The results showed that:Psycho-scene-dram based on existentialism has significant effect on promotion of employment confidence, occupation understanding, self-understanding and career planning; Psycho-scene-dram based on existentialism can effectively promote understanding of employment for first-year college students; Group guidance of psycho-scene-dram based on existentialism is effective to promote scientific and reasonable career planning of college students; there are potential long-term effects in "Cognition", "Emotion", "Willpower" and "Behavior"Therefore, psycho-scene-dram based on existentialism has feasibility, playing a certain role in promoting career planning of college students.
