A Study On Career Education, Counseling And Guidance In The Republic Of Moldova

As is well known, the purpose of Careers Guidance is to help people construct fully satisfying career paths1. Career is a process that shows the person under the aspect of his professional and social life. Through the relevance of this complex process it results the necessity to direct and orient each person to the field of activity which would reveal his capacity potential.Adolescence is the age when the person tries to set a connection between his aspirations, personal aptitudes and labor-market requirements. If the correlation between these three data-labor-market requirements, character feature and professional aspirations was respected, it would be evident the equilibrium between the obtained studies and professional integration,In recent years, Moldova higher education system went through major transitions. Facing employment problems, students now need more than ever a mobilized career guidance system. Career guidance and counseling’s moderate development is increasingly causing concern in our society. Some data reveal that the employment situation in Moldova is far from optimistic at this stage; students are confronting relatively large pressure on employment. This urges for the improving of the career guidance and counseling research and development, the need to enhance awareness around students and the governmental support in providing measures and solutions.The study consists of 4 chapters each introducing Republic of Moldova career guidance and counseling overview, problems and solutions, determining the status of its developing process; also defines the conceptual approaches of the career counseling; represents the approaches with referring to the existing realities and possibilities in the field of counseling and career orientation and revealed the time challenges and actions of Moldova career counseling system.Furthermore the thesis describes the concept, background and features of careers guidance in Republic of Moldova and analyses the fundamental thought process and research methods; points out Moldova career guidance major problems, characteristics and significances, its developing process and shortcomings; also focuses on situation and problem analyses of the career guidance process and its main lagging process causes and aiming at providing countermeasures of improving career counseling and employment guidance in the Republic of Moldova.
