Research On Career Counseling Experience Of College Students

Career counseling as a human interaction process, to help individual resolve career development problem. Survey shows nearly half of the graduates most want to obtain career guidance service from professional according to their personality and advantages. Now most universities have present a relatively systematic career counseling service system and more career counseling. So, it is important that considering on career counseling signification to students career development and the face of counseling process.As a whole, this is a qualitative about study the actual of career counseling. The main data is from deep interview with ten college students who had a career counseling experience in Shanghai city. The methods of literature analysis and questionnaire survey are also applied to outline the background of these people. The main parts of the dissertation present two cases of student in turn, including their career counseling process, motivations, processes, results, and related feelings that career counseling process. In final, try to point recommendations of improve career counseling.The dissertation composed of five chapters:Chapterâ… gives a brief definition of research problem and target. Based on literature analysis, it also presents an introduction of the research plan.In Chapterâ…¡, by data analysis of survey data, it draws the condition of career counseling and college students career development status.Chapterâ…¢and Chapter IV present two cases in detail, describing their career counseling motivations, processes, results, analyzing the development stage of career problem, generalizing the main mode of career counseling process.Chapterâ…¥is a conclusion of the whole research. It generalizes that the characteristics and influential factors of career counseling motivations, processes, results. It gives some suggestions to help improve career counseling.The dissertation conclusion as follows. On motivation of career counseling, student more possible emerge career problem in later stage of university, the client have strong demand for consulting and higher expectation of the consultants. On processes of career counseling, client and counselor have dual relationships, harmonious relationship is the basis for successful career counseling, interactive of client and counselor is the key to success, decision-making of career behavior changes is an important matter of career counseling. On results of career counseling, client can get a new experience from counseling, the two sides have different assessment criteria, peer group has effects on counseling results.
