The Characteristics Of Leisure Space And Its Coupling With Work-residence Space Of Communities In Xi’an

Nowadys,China is in the stage of rapid industrialization and urbanization, and leisure has becoming an integral part of everyday life. All so, with the gradual increase of urban incomes, the gap between the social spheres seems to be widening, and lead to the isolation in community and the spatial differentiation. This phnomenon has reflected to the urban living spatial structure. Urban residents of different living space have significant difference in professional differentiation, so their leisure activities are also very different from each group. The leisure space, as a good carrier for urban residents toparticipation in leisure activities, has also gone spatial differentiation.which emerged in variety of scales.In this study, the investigations have been undertaken in Xi’an, and we selected four categories of community as the research case, which including the Village community, the community units, housing communities and noble community. And we finally choose Bali village, Xi’an International Studies University(Yanta District) family area, Xu Jing and Gao Ling District Hongxi garden and Qujiang 6th. Among them, two communities’ are both community housing communities, which are Xu Jing Garden City real and Hongxi Garden.The first one is in inner(or central) city and another one is in suburbs. This could help us explore Xi’an leisure and residential space intrinsic relationship space more fully.After taking data analysis and statistics to the 700 valid samples of the questionnaire by SPSS 20.0, results was found to have good validity and reliability among this study sample, and are suitable for descriptive statistical analysis to explore the characteristics and spatial structure of leisure different sections of the community residents in Xi’an. Then do the spatial analysis to the resulting data through Arc GIS 10.1, to explore the leisure space and living space, respectively, whether the coupling relationship between the work space, and how to live with the couple and the coordination of the work to different sectors of community, which is the existing research is not involved.Results of this study to optimize and continuously improve rational allocation of resources in Xi’an leisure space has a positive theoretical significance and application value.According to the statistical analysis, the study found that the choose for leisure space of Xi’an urban residents is usually family leisure based, and the charicterristic of the choice shows a clear distance-decay law, a few spaces are discontinued. Communities in urban villages, and in residential blocks in suburbs( Gaoling Hongxi Garden), the imbalance of leisure space and work space is medium; for community residents in all levels, there is a coupling between spaces of work and leisure. In this paper, the research results has great value in theory of quantitative research about the relation between urban spac, farther more, having practical significance in reasonable optimization of Xi’an leisure space and continuous improvement of resource allocation.
