In recent years, with the rapid development of China’s economy, most young people, especially college students, have joined in tennis sport that prevails all over the world. It is proved that tennis is not only conformed to the characteristics of undergraduate that pursues fashionable sports, but also satisfied a higher level of spiritual needs of undergraduate. Therefore, it’s important to carry out the tennis optional course in the universities. It is through the research that we find the major questions and put forward some measures in the process of carrying out the tennis optional course at most colleges in Shaanxi Province.The paper mainly adopt research methods, such as questionnaire survey, expert interviews, documentation and materials, and data statistics methods to discuss and analyze the development situation of tennis optional course in some college in Shaanxi Province. It is useful to put forward some suggestions in the process of carrying out the tennis optional course through this research. The tennis optional courses in Shaanxi Province are selected as the object of research in the study, as well as some undergraduates and teachers who teach the tennis are accepted to survey by the way of the questionnaire and interview. As is owning a lot of universities and distributed widely in the west of china, the Shaanxi Province is selected as the sample area researching the development situation of tennis optional course in this study, which sets up a good example for other colleges carrying out the tennis optional course in all parts of the country.This article mainly embarks from the basic structure of the elective course, studies the basic concept of the elective course and the basic course structure. Find out the benefits of the development of college tennis elective courses in recent years, as well as the development status of elective courses and the main factors affecting their development and contradictions. Through many aspects of the collection of materials and the investigation of the students and teachers of these colleges and universities, research conclusions:First, Shaanxi Province, some colleges and universities tennis elective infrastructure equipment;Second, the university tennis elective course content is not fine enough;Third, the western provinces and cities to promote the promotion of tennis is not enough;Fourth, Shaanxi Province, part of the number of college tennis elective teachers, the traditional teaching methods, a single style;Fifth, college students choose Tennis Elective Class Motivation blind.The main purpose of this paper is to find out the reasons and Countermeasures of development, and put forward reasonable suggestions, so that the majority of colleges and universities to be able to run a good mechanism of tennis elective course.
