Consumption is very important in our social life, which is related with the vital interestsof the people. It will play an indispensable role in the future. Nowadays, Hebei is facing agreat change in economy, and the urban-rural integration develops rapidly. So studying theurban and rural residents’ consumption structure is significant for urban and rural economicdevelopment. Based on the analysis of Hebei’s dual consumption structure, this paper usesthe method of quantitative analysis to divide the urban residents’ consumption expenditureinto two stages, and the rural residents’ consumption expenditure into three stages. Then itwill give a grey relevancy analysis about the urban and rural residents’ consumption structure,and also will give a forecast analysis about consumption structure. To the problems andreasons, also based on the urban and rural, the paper will put forward some suggestions aboutthe upgrading of Hebei’s urban and rural consumption structure in macroscopical andmicrocosmic aspects. In the paper, it uses the gray correlation analysis to explore the changingregulation of Hebei residents’ consumption structure in the empirical angle. The result is thatin1993~2009, the expenditure of family equipment and service and health care changedobviously, occupancy, transportation and communication fluctuated slightly. In the ruralconsumer spending, occupancy, family equipment, transportation and communication,cultural and educational entertainment spending fluctuated greatly, food ang dress spendingchanged slightly. Using the Marco chain prediction method to predict Hebei residents’consumption structure and get the trend of it in the next few years.
