The Definition Of Agritourism Concept Based On Content Analysis

Agritourism concept is not only related to the construction of the theoretical system of agritourism, but closely related to the healthy development of agritourism. Because of the complexity of its meaning and the dispersion of research angles, there are a large number of agritourism concepts in and abroad and have great differences, is always the hot and difficult point of academic research. An agritourism concept which is scientific and is popularly accepted by academic world and society is not only good for constructing the theoretical system of agritourism, but for the planning, developing and management of agritourism.By searching related database, adopted "Retroactive law" and passages delivery, finally got146agritourism concepts, including85overseas concepts and61Chinese agritourism concepts. According to time and typicality, chose100concepts as the research samples. Picked up the key words separately, and got14analysis indicators in overseas concepts,16analysis indicators in Chinese concepts. Used Holsti formula for a reliability testing of three coders, based on the qualified result did statistic and analyze, finally obtained the frequency of each indicator in the100agritourism concepts.Finally the results showed that the higher frequency indicators in overseas agritourism concepts are "farm, ranch, agribusiness operation","industry, activity","visitor, tourist","recreation, entertainment, education". They can reflect the similarity of overseas agritourism concepts. And there were six indicators of higher frequency in Chinese agritourism concepts, namely "agricultural production and management","tourism activity and form","visit, recreation, tasting, shopping, vacation and studying","visitor, tourist","rural scenery, landscape, environment","agricultural resources (farming, forestry, animal husbandry, side-line production and fishery)". They can reflect the similarity of Chinese agritourism concepts. Further analyzed the ten indicators, and got the result that there were six indicators can reflect the similarity of agritourism concepts in and abroad. They were "activity","visitor, tourist","recreation, entertainment, education","agricultural production and management","rural scenery, landscape, environment","agricultural resources (farming, forestry, animal husbandry, side-line production and fishery)". Therefore, agritourism concept could be defined as follows:the activities for entertainment and educational purpose which are based on agricultural resources (farming, forestry, animal husbandry, side-line production and fishery), and rural scenery, agricultural production and management activities as main attractions.
