Research On Motives And Preferences Of The Country Park Recreationists

Country parks have important ecological function and leisure function. The construction plan of country park ring in Beijing is gradually realized, But through field survey on more than30country parks which are constructed, we found that, the country park ring of Beijing is still not fully exert its recreational function. In order to promote the level of construction of the country park, the recreation motivation and leisure preferences are studied in this paper. A large number of domestic and foreign literature is consulted, combined with recreational demand theory, recreation motivation theory and theory of consumer behavior. NaHaiZi Country Park in DaXing district and DongBa Country Park in ChaoYang district, which are of the typical representative of country park in Beijing, are selected as case for this study. With the method of questionnaire and interview, the characteristics of recreation, recreation motivation and recreation preferences of the recreationists in country parks are investigated. Using the statistical software SPSS17.0, the data gained is analized, drawing the following conclusion:Respecting the age, the recreationists are mainly in their youth; Most Recreationists are well educated; The occupation of the recreationists is mainly staff in the company; Sedan car is the main means of transportation for recreationists to reach the park; Family with child (young couple bringing adolescent children) is the main combination type of recreation; The recreationists prefer to travel in groups; Most of the recreationists can arrive the park within30minutes; More than half of the recreationists come to the country park for the first time; Under time constraints, most recreationists choose to travel on weekends, and on weekends people choose country parks at the highest percentage, the attraction of country parks is far outweigh the city parks; The primary motivation of recreationists to choose the country park is that they want to relax and feel the natural harmony and peace. Natural and relaxing motivation is the main motivation; Respecting the preferences for recreation space, the most popular space are the water activity area and the recreation area in the woods; In the aspect of preferences for the type of recreational activity, the most popular type of activity is the kind of activity which is close to nature and the waters. What’s more, traditional outdoor sports, group activity and slowly relaxing activity are the the main kind of activities which recreationists in country park prefers.Finally, based on the above conclusion, the paper proposed some reference for the construction planners to the planning and design of the country park.
