With the development of the world economy, communications andexchanges between countries begin to be more frequent, which results in theprosperity and development of international trade. One special internationaltrade called international construction project begins more and moreimportant and promotes the development of the economy of the whole world.This requires the development of international prject logistics which is morecomplicated compared with general logistics. It services for special projectwith limited resources within limited time and requires more professionalknowledge. It usually costs much more than general logistics.AP company is one of the four main suppliers of industrial gases andrelated equipments of the world. Its special service is to build and operate an“on-site” factory for the customers to produce and supply industrial gases tobig users. This requires the great supports of international project logistics.The quality of the service of international project logistics impacts thequality of the project directly.This thesis is based on the research of AP company, using the knowledgeof project management and international logistics to find and analyze theproblems of project logistics of AP company and provides optimizedsolutions. The solutions have been separately discussed in three aspects. Inthe aspect of time control, the thesis discussed the adjustment of organizationstructure of AP project and the solutions of time control of transportation andcustoms clearance. Analyze and optimize the operations of transportation inAP company with the theory of lead time control. Analyze and set up the timewindows of logistics operation with the theory of time window according tothe limited time of the project. Then discussed the solutions of time controlof customs clearance. In the aspect of cost control, the thesis introduced theconcept of feedforward control, in-process control and post-action control.Then discussed the solutions of cost control in duty, customs clearance,transportation and extra charges. It especially introduced the theory of AHP(Analytic Hierarchy Process) to evaluate the agents of AP company to controlcost. In the aspect of quality control, the thesis focused on the research of large/heavy-cargo transportation, including transport principles, lashing andfixing solutions and safety control methods to insure the cargos beingdelivered to project site without damages.The purpose of this thesis is to discuss the strategy and solutions to solvethe problems of AP company’s project logistics. It is expected to reduce thecost and increase the efficiency to make AP company to be more competitivein the world. It is also expected to make a reference to other relatedcompanies.
