Study On The Construction Of Small Towns Under The Background Of Aging Population

Small towns is an important part of urban construction. Our small town is still inthe early stages of development, there are many problems of small towns’ construction.Currently, the situation of aging population is getting worse, when urbanizationcontinue to advance, the population problem bring global challenges to the country.Explore new ideas of small towns, we must consider the internal needs of the growingelderly population. It is of great significance that research on small towns’ constructioncontent from the perspective of elderly services, and prepare the work gradually for ourcountry to face enormous pressure of elderly people. Meanwhile, study the road ofeconomic development of small towns according to demographic developments, has apositive meaning to promote urbanization.In recent years, our country attaches great importance to the development of smalltowns, and have made a number of policies to promote the construction of small towns.Small towns’ construction has become a hot problem in today’s urbanization, manyscholars begin to study the problems of small towns’ construction. Foreign countrieshave experienced a long process of population aging, the study of small towns’construction is very thorough, and some experience of small towns’ construction isworth to learn from.There is a wide range of small towns’ construction, the paper mainly uses dataanalysis and comparative analysis method, and study from the perspective of theprotection of life for the elderly. Firstly, to analyze the status of the aging population,and put forward the inherent requirements of the elderly on the proposed construction ofsmall towns including someone living environment, consumption and services, systemsecurity aspects. Secondly, to study the main case of small towns’ construction, foundmany problems such as a lack of senior housing, lack of older infrastructure, inadequateenvironmental construction, aging underdeveloped service sector. Meanwhile, analyzethe reason of these problems, mainly including aging services consciousness, impropermanagement of small towns, funding difficulties and the lack of spending power of theelderly. Finally, learn from foreign experience of small towns’ construction, and putforward suggestions, including the strengthening of small town planning management,to improve the elderly living environment, the development of aging services and thecreation of jobs for the elderly, and so on. Hope to provide a reference for improving the quality of life for the elderly in small towns, to achieve harmony and developmentin the elderly.
