With the development of the construction industry, the procurement model ofConstruction Projects is also undergoing constant evolution. It is developing from DBB(Design—Bid—Build) and GC (General Contractors) to the highly integratedprocurement model, as, DB(Design—Build)EPC (Engineering ProcurementConstruction).Building information modeling (BIM) is a digital model that integrates the informationof construction project such as functional and physical characteristics. It relies on thebuilding information. It provides base of decision-making and managementat each stageof the implementation of construction projects. BIM emphasize collaborative workbetween the parties, while every stages are broken and the parties have poor cooperationin the existing construction project procurement. BIM applied in the project is changingthe inverse and fragmented relationship between the parties. The existing constructionproject procurement model cannot meet the requirements of the development of BIM inthe construction industry. The paper describes the concept and characteristics of BIM and features of the existingconstruction project procurement model. It describes the extent of correspondence aboutBIM and the existing construction project procurement model from the process ofintegration, the contract system, organizational integration and information exchange.By further analyzing and summarizing actual cases at home and abroad about theProcurement mode of Construction Project Conducted with BIM, the author proposesfive factors when owners make the decision regarding the Procurement mode with BIM.The five factors are the attributes of construction project with BIM, depth of BIMapplications, project management objectives, environment of BIM implementation andriskof BIMembodiment. This paper briefly Studies on Procurement mode and ContractStructure of Construction Project Conducted with BIM. Based on the analysis of theapplication status at home and abroad, the author propose gives suggestions that thenation release exemplary construction contract and owners draft construction contractwith BIM.Integrated Project Delivery (IPD) requires the parties to build a highly collaborativeproject team to achieve the goal of sharing the interests and risk. Literature Review and foreign experience shows that combined with BIM and IPD can bring the "leverageeffect" in the construction field. In the brief study on procurement mode and contractstructure of construction project conducted with BIM, the author gives three stages todevelopment the IPD In the country. The first stage is the transitionfrom the traditionalprocurement model to IPD procurement model. The second stage is the procurement model ofthe IPD multi-party. The third stage is the procurement model of the IPD single purposeentity. Through the promotion and development of the three phases, BIM and IPD willbe developed parallel in our country.
