Diversification in customer’s demanding and the increasing of uncertain factors make the manufacturing enterprises gradually shifted from the traditional mode of production to stock up for order production way. With the promotion of MTO production mode, the apparent of emergency order become inevitable. Emergency order generally accompanied by a rich profit, considering its particularity and urgency, enterprises usually inserts the emergency order into the already exhausted production plan. However, if the emergency order processing improperly, it will not only lead to already generated production plan and purchasing plan create chaos, for emergency order itself, also may cause the delivery extension. So, the emergency order inserting problem in system study is of important theoretical and realistic significance. Through the research on emergency order inserting problem, to realize enterprise profit maximization, determine the emergency order insert single rule, set up an emergency order insert single model are burning problems manufacturing enterprises must be solved.Limited capacity is one characteristic of small and medium-sized manufacturing enterprises. Based on this character, this paper is along with the following logic:the literature review of emergency order inserting problem-theoretical basis-emergency order inserting problem in flow shop-emergency order inserting problem in one-of-a-kind production shop-summary and scope. The study is based on two typical job shop production ways. Establish suitable models for different job shop through the integrated use of emergency order inserting algorithms. At first, the research background and significance of emergency order inserting problem are stated and the current research situation at home and abroad are expounded. The influences on MTO enterprises result by emergency orders and the definition of emergency order are introduced. Based on these, the inserting algorithm of emergency order and the processing procedure are summed up. In addition to these, the comparisons of the three typical algorithms are introduced. Secondly, the emergency order inserting problem in flow shop solved by order exited and order postponed, and the order is regarded as the object to build the model. Thirdly, emergency order inserting problem in one-of-a-kind production shop is divided into two core part. On the one hand, consider the fulfilling difficulty coefficient of different orders which has influence on order priority. On the other hand, according to the established order priority, the process is regarded as the object to establish the emergency order inserting model, which used the method of order rearrangement. Finally, the research results described above are summarized and prospected.Use order fulfilling difficulty level as the starting point, this paper discusses it’s influence on one-of-a-kind production priority. Through the analysis of the emergency order inserting problem in two different kinds of job shop, obtained satisfactory order inserting results. The emergency order inserting models provide a good solution for production chaos phenomenon in manufacturing enterprises.
