| Labor cost is comprehensive expression of how competitive a country,an area ora company can be in the labor market,it is the most active fact for the modernenterprise to obtain competitive advantage in the market.The construction industry isa typical, traditional labor intensive industry. Many of China’s constructionenterprises are not aware of the importance of the labor cost,they still regard cheaplabor force as their main advantage.However,with the development of the economyand the improvement of social welfare system, labor cost rises constantly, thisadvantage will gradually lose, competition strategy building on cheap labor force isbecoming impossible to go on for much longer. It requires the construction enterpriseto grasp the current situation and the development trend of labor costs, strengthen themanagement and control of labor costs,so as to make its utility to the fullest.This article is based on the current market conditions,analyses the reasons forthe rising labor cost and the impact on construction enterprises, and makescountermeasures and suggestions on the construction industry labor costmanagement,it analyses the influencing factors of how the construction labor costsrise in China, from the labor market supply and demand situation, the sustainedeconomic development of our country, to the strengthening of the workers’ rights andinterests protection,the characteristics of construction industry and other aspects, andthen analyses the impact of rising labor cost on the construction industry.
