Abstract/Summary:
Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport located in southern China, is one of the threecompound hub airports in China, and has made some achievements in hub construction inrecent years, but it also faces severe competition. Airfield area is an important place foraircraft operation, parking, service and passengers go on or off the plane in the airport, andplay an important role at the airport hub construction. Developing a strategic plan of airfieldarea of Baiyun Airport, is a key to maintain the competitive advantage of Baiyun Airport andpromote the hub construction of Baiyun Airport effectively.At first, Chapter one discusses the strategic management, hub airport and flightoperations and other related theories, provides a theoretical basis for strategic analysis ofairfield area. Secondly, Chapter II analysis of the external environment of airfield area inBaiyun Airport, using of PEST, Porter’s five forces model and other analytical tools.Chapter III focuses on the analysis of resources, capacity and core competence of airfield area.Analysis of internal and external environment of flying area is help to find out opportunities,threats, strengths and weakness of airfield area in Baiyun Airport. Then, Summary of thestrategic choice of airfield area is made by using a SWOT analysis methods in chapter fourth,and the strategic intent, mission statement and objectives is discussed in this chapter. Finally,Chapter fifth advances the implementation plan of strategy from five different angles.This paper discusses the hub strategy of airfield area in Baiyun Airport and developed astrategic implementation plan with strong theoretical significance and applied value. I hope itcould be a reference for airfield area makes strategic planning in Baiyun airport.
