| As an idea of management that can promote the enterprise to be more successful and astrategic integrative management method, performance management plays a key role indeveloping team and individual potential, perfecting incentive mechanism and improvingthe level of HRM and economic benefit of the enterprise. Therefore, studies and planningthe system of performance management is the base of enterprise for long-termdevelopment. The food industry is closely related to People’s Daily diet and health, and isone of the industries that are most concerned by the country. Nowadays, in our country thefood industry of which small and medium-sized enterprises of higher proportion is growing.The food industry is suffering great stress of development, because in recent years therehave happened many vicious incidents that harm People’s health and stability of nation. Itis the key to improve the management for food industry to achieve substantial development,except for enhancing technological capability and strictly controlling the quality. Themanagement level and idea of most of our small and medium-sized food enterprises are fellbehind. They ignore the performance management, and the system of performancemanagement has not been set up. As a result, the employees’ working enthusiasm is poor,the cost of production is high, the economic benefit of the enterprises drops, and thesustained and healthy development of enterprises is seriously affected. Therefore, in orderto distinguish their products in a crowded market, our small and medium-sized foodenterprises must improve the management, especially enhance the level of performancemanagement, to stimulate employee’s initiative and creativity and strengthen theenterprise’s core competitive ability.For all the above reasons and the problems existed in the implementation ofperformance management of our small and medium-sized food enterprises, in this paperperformance management system is defined as a cycling process, including performanceplan, performance management, performance appraisal and performance feedback. JilinSMELL Food Co., Ltd is used as the research object in this paper. There are someproblems existed in this company, such as the unscientific performance managementprocess, incompletion of job description, simpleness of performance evaluation indicators and so on, which have seriously hindered the further development of the company.According to the present situation and the existing problems of this company, this paperdesigns a set of scientific performance management system with related theories andmethods of performance management, especially KPI and BSC. The system includesdetermining the objects and principles, designing the process of performance management.At last, some feasible suggestions are put forward for the implementation of the system.There are six chapters in the paper, the main content is shown as following:Chapter1, introduce the research background and meanings, summarize the relatedliterature at home and abroad, give a brief introduction of main contents and researchmethods in this paper, then demonstrate the main innovative points at last.Chapter2, define the related concepts of performance, performance management andperformance management system, discuss the main theories and methods of performancemanagement.Chapter3, evaluate the status of performance management in Jilin SMELL Food Co.,Ltd, analyze the existed problems and causes.Chapter4, on the basis of the reality of the company, design and construct aperformance management system for Jilin SMELL Food Co., Ltd with related theories andmethods of performance management. the main content of the system includes making thejob description perfect, constructing rational performance evaluation indicators with KIPand BSC, designing performance appraisal forms for staff engaged in management jobs,marketing jobs and production jobs.Chapter5, put forward some feasible suggestions for the implementation of theperformance management system.Chapter6, draw a conclusion and summary the study limitations in the paper, thenview for future research. |
