Research On Commercial Bank Performance Evaluation In The Perspective Of The Balanced Scorecard

The more intense competition in the market environment, China’s financialsystem reform is becoming more and more quickly. The bank who wants to take thelead in the cruel competition must constantly improve its operating capacity andprofitability. At present, the Commercial Bank of our country is conducting acomprehensive reform, in marching toward the strategic goal of becoming themodern joint-stock commercial banks which have international competition ability.In this background, the Commercial Bank of our country is very necessary toestablish a set of scientific performance appraisal system to promote thedevelopment of the overall banking industry strategy.In the past, the commercial bank’s performance appraisal system only paidattention to financial indicators, and did not pay attention to the non-financial index.According to the analysis of the market environment, the original performanceappraisal system is no longer able to carry out the total target of the our countrycommercial bank, and cannot meet the development needs of the market. How toconstruct a set of scientific performance appraisal system to promote the reform anddevelopment of commercial banks at the strategic level?This paper starts from the basic principles and the specific steps of commercialbank performance evaluation index system of our country, and takes A Bank whouses the Balanced Scorecard in the performance evaluation as the example, andelaborates the basic method of evaluating the performance of China’s commercialbanks with Balance Scorecard, and introduces of some advanced experiences athome and abroad, and promotes some suggestions of the management of China’scommercial banks.
