Taking thedomestic31provinces as research object, this paper analyzes thecurrent situation of spatial distribution of innovation outputs during year2001to2012. Firstly, itapplies innovation and geographic agglomeration index to measure theagglomeration level. Then it introduces the index of Moran to study the correlationbetween innovation and economic agglomeration. In the past, studies of technologicalinnovation on economic growth mainly based on the dimension of non-geographicspatial. In order to analyze the spatial concentration of technological innovation andthe spatial spillover which effect on the spatial distribution of technologicalinnovation, this paper introduces the knowledge production function which containsspillover, then establishes a spatial spillover econometric model of knowledgeproduction to measure the spillover of innovation which effect on innovation outputs. In addition, the spatial distribution of innovation plays an important role in economicgrowth. Meanwhile, the economic output exist spatial autocorrelation. Hence, thispaper introduces the level of market into the spatial econometrics model, which isconducive to study the relation between innovation spatial spillover and economicgrowth efficiency in vary degree of market.Theresults indicate that:(1) Innovation outputisunbalanced geographically, while innovation andeconomic agglomeration is consistent geographically. Innovation is the engine ofeconomic development. Therefore, innovation agglomeration may lead to theagglomeration of economic.Compared with Midwest, the innovation ability ofEastern coastal areaand efficiency of economic activity is higher.(2)Local knowledge stock accumulation and other areas’ capital stock areplaying a significant role in innovation outputs. The spatial dependence of regressioncoefficient ρ is positive and passes the5%test in a significant degree, whichindicates that technological innovation has significant spatial correlation and furtherconfirmed the existence of technological innovation spillovers in the space.(3)Innovation outputs and technique turnover (innovation diffusion) boost theeconomic growth positively. In terms ofspillover between innovation elements’ spatial distributionandeconomic growth, the effectis also positive. In conclusion, the spatial distribution of technological innovation plays animportant role in economic growth with the spatial spillover, which is also the majorcause of regional economic imbalance. Hence, focusing on space spillover anddependence relations of innovation as well asconstructingthe innovation system, willgreatly contribute to build an innovation country and realize the coordinateddevelopment of regional economic.
