Research On The Spatial Structure Evolvement Of Xiamen’s Tourist Origins With Transportation Development

Transportation construction and transformation of transport can expand thetime-space compression effect gradually,accelerate the flow of information, fundsand tourists in different regions, push forward the development of the regionaleconomic along the transportation tracks. Time-space compression has an effect ontourists’ spatial cognition and spatial behavior, enhance regional tourism cooperationand exchanges, and speed up spatial structure evolution of tourist origins. Therefore,linked the traffic to tourism and analyzes the spatial structure evolvement ofXiamen’s tourist origins with transportation development, investigate the effect oftraffic development on tourist origins in Xiamen have guiding significance forXiamen Tourism and Transport development.By means of the research methods of literature, field observation and analyticalinduction, this paper divides the Xiamen transportation development into three stages:the initial development, rapid development, and gradually perfection, and analyzesthe Xiamen railway, aviation, ports and highways’ changes in the different stages. Inthis analysis foundation, this paper analyzes the spatial structure evolution ofXiamen’s inbound tourists and domestic tourists, adopted the geographicalconcentration index, the tourist attraction index and the market competitive state tomeasure spatial distribution of Xiamen tourist origins and get those conclusions: thetourist attraction radius of Xiamen gradually increased, the spatial concentrationindex of Xiamen is gradually weakening, tourist spatial distribution gradually toextend over long distance; Xiamen’s key tourist origin countries or tourists startturning cash-cow market and the number of tourists countries and districts in theshrinking of children market gradually increasing; Xiamen’s tourists change basicallyin accordance with space-decreasing theory as a whole, but some economic andpolicy factors can break the theory and make tourist origins has a certaindiscontinuity in the spatial distribution. Meanwhile, This paper discusses the factorsthat affected the spatial structure evolution of Xiamen tourist origins, and focus on thesynchronization with traffic development and spatial structure evolution of Xiamen’s tourists, found the spatial structure evolution of Xiamen tourist has some differencesin different traffic and at different stages, and transport development to enhance theattractiveness of Xiamen tourists along the traffic tracks, and reduces the tourists’psychological distance, change its trend. Finally, this paper proposes Xiamen touristmarket optimization and traffic development strategy.
