Thailand and China have signed Free Trade Agreement (FTA) that started on October1,2003. The FTA is an Early Harvest Program (EHP) on vegetables and fruits. FTA onlycancels import tariff, but it does not include value-added tax (VAT) and other fees, which willstill affect price of fruit. Besides,Non-tariff Barriers (NTBs) such as Auditing Standards,Sanitary Measures,Environment Compliance, etc are also obstacles of fruit trade. Thisresearch is study on the export growth of fruit trade between Thailand and China before andafter FTA that since2000to2011.From the research, the years before FTA the fruit exports of both countries had notmuch exportation. Since FTA started, fruit trades have continuously increased every year. Both of Thailand and China have stable of total fruit export growth. However from thecomparison,Chinese fruit export has more potential than Thai fruit export. Because ofChinese winter fruits exports have longer storage time than Thai tropical fruits. The longstorage time of fruit is beneficial to fruit transportation and distribution. In addition, varioustypes of Thai fruits have problems with unstable export growth.
