The aim of the study was to identify the challenges faced by GWCL in water delivery services tourban communities in Ghana, specifically LEKMA, Teshie, and a district capital and to suggestways to solve them. For the researcher to be able to achieve the aim of the study, key researchquestions were posed which enabled the researcher to gather/collect data that helped shed morelight in the research project. Research questions such as what are the major causes of thefrequent water shortages at Teshie, also the socio economic impact of poor service from GWCL.Research identifies that, less than55%of people dwelling in urban communities have access toimprove water services or safe drinking water. The study reveals the scarcity of water in Teshieand it identifies some option that the inhabitants resort to, when they face scarcity of water.Consumers where asked questioned so as the GWCL officials. The official cited somedifficulties facing the company that hinder its duties and responsibilities on water servicedelivery to its customers. Privatization, which many, thought was the key, wasn’t, but rather, itneeded the injection of funds to the company so as to be effective in its service. This serves as amajor recommendation.
