On the basis of reviewing and summarizing quality evaluation methods in the world, this thesishas analyzed the advantage and disadvantage of these methods. Combining the Success Tree Analysis(STA) and Graphic Evaluation and Review Technique (GERT), a new method is proposed in thisthesis to analyze and to evaluate the quality of Major Equipment Products (MEPs), i.e. GSTA-GERTmodel. Major research scopes of this thesis are as follows:(1) Defined the concept of MEP quality. Comparatively analyzed the transaction character ofMEPs and General Products (GPs), the writer of this thesis has found that different with generalproducts, which have only Manufactured Inherent Quality (MIQ), MEPs have both MIQ and ServiceQuality. According to this finding, a new concept of MEPs based on Manufacture-ServiceDual-Network has been presented.(2) Proposed a GERT model based on maximum entropy for calculate quality parameter. Onthe basis of characters of quality activities, i.e. customization and small amount, a process to obtainthe parameter value of GERT has been designed, adopting the principle of maximum entropy.(3) Presented a logical analysis method–Grey Success Tree Analysis (GSTA) Based onstandard interval grey numbers. After analyzing the difference between traditional STA and GSTA,the thesis has put up with a basic structure and logical arithmetic of GSTA, which can be used toanalyze the quality structure of MEPs and to evaluate the entire quality of MEPs. Besides, based onthe basis of minimal cut set theory, the writer has proposed a method to analyze the key qualityindicator of MEPs.In the end of this thesis, a case of a trunk airplane has been used to test the methods mentionedabove and to illustrate the procedure of evaluating quality of MEPs. The abundantly qualified andquantified results revealed these methods are scientific and reliable.
