Study On The Industry Factor’s Effection In Cooperation Tendency And Performance Between Industry And University

With the impact of Mobile Internet, Big Data, etc characteristics of this times, thecompetition of any industries is fierce, and the products should be upgraded in a short-period.Therefore, obtain sustainable development power by innovation is urgent for the state, regionand enterprises.The cooperation between industry and university is an important mode for ourgovernment to enhance innovation ability of enterprises, build state innovation system andachieve great-leap-forward development by break through the difficulty technology. Afterlearning by doing, the cooperation theories and practices between industry and university inChina are becoming more mature, but how to adjust measures and innovation policies of localconditions in different industries and regions is ignore by many researchers.The cooperation tendency and performance are the start and end step of the industry-university innovation activities, are valuable for studying industry differences in the “blackbox”. Many empirical researchers have found that the cooperation tendencybetween industryand university is different because of the industry factor. However, few scholars went deeplyinto the mechanism of action. At the beginning, two cases are provided for understanding theindustry differences, and develop the research hypotheses and frame. After that, the NationalPrizes for progress in science and technology and the awarded enterprises information havebeen collected, secondary operated and analyzed, by descriptive statistics and multiple linearregression. The results are expecting to help the managers to set related policies.The results show that the industry factor can be decomposed into capabilities dimensionand interactive dimension, and the transmission between them will affect the cooperationtendency (proprietary or general technologies) between industry and university, especiallycause the difference between traditional industries and high-technology industries. Moreover,the position of enterprises, universities and research institution are different, so the ways ofcooperation should be adjust in practice. It is a complement for this domain, and helps thegovernment to establish different policies depend on the industry factor.
