Research On The Formation Mechanism Of Competitiveness Of Chinese Shipbuilding Industry

Shipping industry is a comprehensive industry, it combines capital-intensive,technology-intensive and labor-intensive, and reflects a country’s manufacturing capacityand the level of industrial development synthetically. At present, our country has surpassedSouth Korea and Japan as the world’s largest shipbuilding country, but compared withshipbuilding powers such as South Korea, Japan and the European Union, there is a largergap in our country. In order to achieve the objectives of Chinese shipbuilding powers, anin-depth study in the competitiveness of Chinese shipbuilding industrial is very necessary.The main purpose of this paper is to analyze the factors influencing the competitiveness ofChinese shipbuilding industry, to discuss the formation mechanism of shipbuildingindustrial competitiveness, and to validate the theoretical model proposed in an empiricalway, at last advances some strategies to promote the competitiveness of our countryshipbuilding industry.This paper is divided into six chapters. Chapter one is the introduction, which focuseson the background and significance of the research, research methods and reviews ofcompetitiveness of shipbuilding industry and the forming mechanism of industrialcompetitiveness. Chapter two is some theories. Firstly summarizes the basic connotation ofindustrial competitiveness theory, theoretical model and analysis framework and evaluationsystem; secondly, introduces the characteristics of structural equation model. Chapter threeanalyzes the competitiveness of Chinese shipbuilding industry from five aspects, such asthe market capacity, product structure, production technical level, industrial concentrationand supporting industry; to find out the gap between our country and shipbuilding powers.Chapter four analyzes the measurement factors and influencing factors of thecompetitiveness of Chinese shipbuilding industry from several aspects, which are themarket occupancy ability, the factors of production, market demand, industry organizationstructure, ancillary industries and government support, and on this basis to establish aframework of the formation mechanism of the competitiveness of Chinese shipbuildingindustry. Chapter five build an analysis model on the formation mechanism ofcompetitiveness of Chinese shipbuilding industry based on structural equation model, andthe put forward the theoretical hypothesis. In this paper, we collect the required datathrough the questionnaire, and analyze the collected data by using SPSS18.0and AMOS17.0software, and then verify the hypothesis and amendments to the initial model.By analyzing the path relationship between latent variables, identify the effect of influence factors onindustrial competitiveness and the relationship between these factors. Chapter six analyses relevantstrategies to improve the competitiveness of Chinese shipbuilding industry in those fiveareas, based on the results of the empirical analysis.
