Exhibition economy is after the real estate economy and tourism economy of theworld’s third largest "pollution-free economy", it will guide, integrated and wholeconstruction machinery with high efficiency, connection etc. Characteristics, highcoefficient of leading industry, economic and social benefits, the way of thepriority to the development of many countries and regions. At present, our countryis rapidly push the urbanization process, in which small and medium-sized citiesplay an important role to the development of small and medium-sized cities directlyaffects the effect of urbanization. Modern exhibition economy, as a service industry,small and medium-sized cities become adjust the production structure, enhancecomprehensive strength, choose realizing leap-forward development. By many smalland medium-sized cities in our country take the lead in developing exhibition economyhas achieved good results, but there are also many small and medium-sized cities,the phenomenon of the "exhibition not economy".Based on the above background, exhibition economy as the main body, small andmedium-sized cities in this study to explore the small and medium-sized cities shouldbe how to better develop exhibition economy. First of all, through the study on theprofile and characteristics of small and medium-sized cities in China, exhibitioneconomy definition of related concepts, exhibition economy and city interaction,it is concluded that small and medium-sized cities have potential feasibility ofdeveloping exhibition economy. Secondly, choose and in-depth development of smalland medium-sized cities at home and abroad exhibition economy of successful cases,has guiding significance for sorting out the four management revelation: first,relying on the advantage of exhibition resources, selective development of miceeconomy; Second, conference, exhibition and the integration of the festival; Three,forge a city exhibition brand; Fourth, the government leading, market operation.Again, on the basis of resources endowment theory and successful experience, toinfluence key resources of the convention and exhibition for drive, build a doubledriven industry and market driven, natural resources driven, competitive productdriven and multivariate driven five exhibition economy development path of theoptions available to small and medium-sized cities, and the corresponding pathselection basis and method is given. Finally, from the government’s role positioning,expanding channels of exhibition economy, exhibition marketing and sustainabledevelopment of four levels, explains how to use the new media technology, small andmedium-sized cities mining in land resources, bidding for the famous convention andexhibition, exhibition marketing, give play to the resource advantage of intangibleexhibition outside the development of innovative Suggestions.
