Research On Urbanization Development Mode Of China’s Medium-sized Cities And Small Cities

As involving all aspects of life and social economic development, urbanization isone of important researches on human development. With the large number of countiesand more than50%in the amount of prefecture-level cities and above, medium-sizedcities and small cities are important part of urban system and the crucial point ofurbanization. The development of medium-sized cities and small cities determines thequality of China’s social and economic development.However, academic research is lack in urbanization of medium-sized cities andsmall cities. Based on analysis of the current situation of development ofmedium-sized cities and small cities and the case study, this paper is to create a newurbanization development mode suited for medium-sized cities and small cities andraise relevant suggestions.This paper firstly analyzes the research background and importance of this topic,and introduces theories on urbanization and urbanization development mode. Thesetheories is the base of deep analysis followed.Then this paper uses these theories to analyse the urbanization development modeof medium-sized cities and small cities by creating a comprehensive research frame. Itfirstly analyses the develop force of urbanization, then research the current situation,problems the restricted factors and opportunities of development.Based on analysis above, this paper creates a new urbanization development mode.The core of this mode is the intensive development considering the limitation ofresources. This paper introduces four parts of this new mode, which are driving forcemode, organization mode, innovation mode and coordination mode, and analyses theiroperational systems. Then this paper analyses the urbanization development ofShuangliu County to add some well-functioned policies on the use of this new mode.At last, this paper raised some suggestions the urbanization development mode onmedium-sized cities and small cities from aspects of changing developmentconsciousness, system construction and participative subject.
