Research On International Business Of The ABC Bank

Over the past few years, the globalization and integration of world economy is getting more obvious, and the economic power and international influence of China are growing stronger. In order to meet the needs of domestic economic development and to keep step with the development trends of other international banks, Chinese banks need to put significant effort into expanding its overseas business and take the central stage of international banking industry. ABC Bank as a model of Chinese policy banks, promotes its international business forefront of the other commercial banks. Its unique development model, as well as rapid growing of international influence, attracted the attention from the Bank of China, as well as its fellow international peers.Therefore, the author of this paper firstly studies various theories about overseas development of the banking industry. On the basis of the study, it summarised the mode of the banking internationalisation. It then focuses on the ABC Bank, choosing Sichuan branch as a case, which is typical and familiar to the author, to thoroughly research on the practice, as well as to comprehensively summarise the experience of its international businesses.In the author’s point of view, major experience gained from the international business development of the ABC Bank Sichuan branch can be summed up as follows:Firstly, the bank should lead domestic enterprises "going abroad" and make them globally more competitive via playing a leading and intergral role in overseas financing. Secondly, the bank should use financial cooperation as leverage for reducing financial risks, accessing consolidated income, promoting financing projects and gaining more global impacts. Moreover, the bank should form its own distinctive business strategy, market positioning, and business models, and facilitate market construction by business innovation. The author therefore will summarize the enlightenment for further banking overseas development, which could be concluded as:the basis are characteristics and differences, and the motive are innovation and cooperation, and the conditions are resources and advantages.
