Under Conditions Of East Asian Economic Integration The Necessity And Effect Prediction Of Taiwan’s Participation In The Pan-Beibu Gulf Economic Cooperation

Since the World Trade Organization (WTO) established, Regional Economic Cooperation is developing faster and faster,.It has been a significant trend. Regional Economic Cooperation firstly appeared in the neighboring countries or regions which has geographical advantages such as the European Union (EU), the North American Free Trade Area (NAFTA), Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN), etc., but as the surrounding resources of co-members diminishing and the cooperation concept deepening, beyond geographical boundaries, further interpretation of geo-economic concepts, expanding the scope and ways of cooperation, has becoming the new features of Regional Economic Cooperation.East Asian Economies occupy an important component in the world economy.Regional Economic Integration is part of World Economic Integration.Although there are many diversity and uncertainty in East Asia, coupled with the impact of the U.S., some obstacles occurred in the process, but its development trend is irreversible. Taiwan, as one of Asia’s most developed and affluent areas, has created a huge economic miracle, is also one of the beneficiaries of the great wave of Global Economic Integration in the19th century. Today, Taiwa is facing "marginalized" crisis in the process of iEast Asia Economic Integration,and Taiwan is also difficult to find a suitable point of intervention to integrate into the process. Of course, the reasons for this situation are many, including economic factors, political factors, including external factors and Taiwan’s own factors. How to get rid of "marginalized" dilemma, find an appropriate way to join the process of East Asian Economic Integration is worth studying.Since2006,"Pan-Beibu Gulf Economic Cooperation" put forward, it has developed rapidly. As one of the important sub-regional economic cooperation in ASEAN, the Pan-Beibu Gulf Economic Cooperation plays a significant role to the future development of the whole region and the entire East Asian region’s economy. Moreover,unlike other East Asia Sub-regional Economic Cooperation, the features of "openness" and "heavy marine"and others in the Pan-Beibu Gulf Economic Cooperation are also suitable for Taiwan’s participation. Therefore, this paper presents the Pan-Beibu Gulf Economic Cooperation most conducive to Taiwan’s participation in the East Asian Economic Integration,and also the best path to its participation in the East Asian Economic Integration in the future.Under the background of CAFTA and ECFA, the article reviews the research literature in this area, then expanded discussion based on the theory of Regional Economic Integration and Sub-regional Economic Cooperation:First, discussed the impact on Taiwan’s economy in the trend of East Asian Economic Iintegration and the impact of the Pan-Beibu Gulf Economic Cooperation to Taiwan’s participation in the East Asian Economic Integration, given a view of Taiwan’s participation in the Pan-Beibu Gulf Economic Cooperation is the most favorable way for its integration into the process of East Asian Economic Integration. Based on this, the article uses the method of combination of trade index, comparative advantage index, trade complementarity index analysis the economic effects and other spillover effects after Taiwan’s participation in the Pan-Beibu Gulf Economic Cooperation. Then gives conclusion:With the process of East Asian Economic Integration accelerated, Taiwan’s "marginalized" dilemma will become more serious, ASEAN trade is also not optimistic. After the signing of ECFA, Taiwan must seek further breakthroughs, and the Pan-Beibu Gulf Economic Cooperation brought opportunities for Taiwan’s participation in the East Asian Economic Cooperation,and its many features are the best choice for Taiwan’s participation in the East Asian Economic Integration, is also an important way for Cross-strait to participate the East Asia Economic Cooperation, as well as a joint media of the channel to solve the South China Sea issue. Finally, the article provide some suggestions for Taiwan’s participation in the Pan-Beibu Gulf Economic Cooperation.This article does not limited to the East Asian Economic Integration and Pan-Beibu Gulf Economic Cooperation, combined the research of Taiwan and Pan-Beibu Gulf Economic Cooperation,finding the way for Taiwan’s participation in the East Asian Economic Integration: To participate in the Pan-Beibu Gulf Economic Cooperation. And provide specific ways and means. The research is not only beneficial to Taiwan out of the current economic difficulties, but also conducives to Taiwan’s faster integration into the process of East Asian Economic Integration,and creates a powerful guarantee for long-term peaceful development of cross-strait.
